Wedding cakes are notoriously expensive. Usually, every slice costs a few dollars (depending on the flavor of cake), which means a large wedding cake can easily cost a few hundred dollars.
Some people who want more intricate designs or fancier cakes might even spend thousands to have the perfect dessert for their wedding.
That said, most people wouldn’t be willing to drop a million dollars on a cake, though, even if it were a life-size replica of the bride.
Well, there’s a cake out there that’s worth $1 million.
The insanely expensive wedding cake is currently on display at a bridal show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It looks exactly like a traditional bride — white dress and everything. The especially lofty price tag is thanks to hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of diamonds!
There are 5,000 hand-cut flowers adorning the human-sized cake, which took five days to construct. The cake is also decorated in edible pearls.
As for the diamonds, there are five of them, each three carats and of the finest clarity. Of course, diamonds come at a price, and these ones run $200,000 each!
