It would be an understatement to say that Pancras Karema has worked his way to be where he is today.
The 28-year-old who has been nominated for the Young Entrepreneurs Award (YEA) 2018 started out in campus when he organized a hike for fellow students at the University of Nairobi studying a degree in tourism and political science.

The numbers kept increasing in the subsequent hikes and that is how the idea of starting a tour and travel company was mooted.
In 2015, he teamed with a childhood friend Lawrence Ndegea and founded the Expedition Maasai Safaris which to date continues to offer opportunities to tour the world at a fair price.
"I realised there were so many people who wanted to tour their dream destinations but at the same time were short of money. And for those who had the money, they could not find reliable operators especially for international destinations as many travelers could find themselves stranded in foreign destinations even after having paid everything to their local travel agents. We were going to fill this vacuum by offering affordable rates to local and international tourists," says Karema who radiates confidence of winning the award.

And there is no doubt that Expeditions Maasai Safaris has provided the solution. For as low as KSh12,000, one is able to go on a tour to Maasai Mara for three days with meals and transport being catered for.
Their discounted rates for vacations in Mombasa, Zanzibar, Dubai, Bangkok, Maldives, Seychelles and recently the United States has made Expeditions Maasai Safaris to be the talk of the town.
What's even more, Expeditions Maasai Safaris organized the first ever proposal on top of Mount Kenya in September last year.

Kavit Mukesh Shah captured the imagination of many when he proposed to his fiancé Binita on top of Mt Kenya in the much-publicized incident.
"We even had several clients on the Inaugural KQ flight to US," discloses Karema.
He is one of the champions of Tembea Kenya Campaign that sought to bolster domestic tourism.
Karema attributes the growth of business to implementation of advanced digital marketing strategy, effective use of social media platforms, and a winning customer service culture. This saw them being crowned the Business of the Year and the Most Social Organization of the Year in Kenya during the OLX SOMA AWARDS in 2016 and 2017 consecutively.
He also notes that being trustworthy having an effective team and offering good customer service that stands out as some of the attributes that have greatly contributed to expansion of business.
Karema terms his nomination in Young Entrepreneurs Award (YEA) organized and hosted by Bizna Kenya as a mark of recognition.
