Men of the Nigerian Police Force have reportedly teargassed some prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that besieged the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja to protest alleged rigging of the Osun gubernatorial election.
Popular journalist, Dele Momodu made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Friday afternoon.
Some leaders of the opposition party that visited the commission’s office included Senate President and PDP presidential aspirant, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Sen. Dino Melaye (PDP – Kogi West), among others.
Momodu said, “Tear-gas fired at the President of the Nigerian Senate DR ABUBAKAR BUKOLA SARAKI and others in Abuja for demonstrating against what they called election rigging in Osun State…”
