BAD NEWS!!! Atiku’s 2019 Presidency Bid Hits Rocks, As Powerful PDP Member Ready To Quit

Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, former Kano State Governor and a strong entity in Northern Nigeria has revealed his annoyance and may be ready to retract his support for Atiku Abubakar by quitting the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) if the party leaders remove any member of the Kwankwasiyya movement from its list of aspirants. Kwankwaso earlier held primary elections for different elective positions in Kano State which were then won by the aspirants chosen by him thereby neglecting other qualified candidates. A reliable source within the party confided to newsmen yesterday that the former governor gave a the strongest indication yet that he was going to leave the party during a meeting held with party leaders at Legacy House, Abuja. The meeting, which started at 3pm and lasted for about two hours, had in attendance many PDP stakeholders including Bello Hayatu Gwarzo and Ambassador Aminu Wali among others. According to the source, they called the meeting in order to review the list of aspirants from Kano State. The faction of the PDP led by Senator Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa had also carried out a separate primary elections where candidates were also selected for various offices. In a bit to unify their house, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party headed by Prince Uche Secondus brought together all the contending factions with the aim of having a win-win situation. The source said, “Kwankwaso told the gathering that any move to remove any member of Kwankwasiyya from the aspirants list will lead to his defection from PDP. However, the Doguwa-led faction also threatened to dump the party if the leadership failed to review the list of aspirants. “The meeting ended in a deadlock since neither Kwankwaso nor Doguwa faction agreed to accept the terms offered by the leadership of the party,” the source said. According to him, the leadership of the party in its effort to reconcile the aggrieved members, resolved that the national and state assemblies slots be equally shared between the Kwankwaso and Doguwa factions of the party. He added that when it was obvious the meeting reached its peak with no notable breakthrough, the party’s presidential flag bearer and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, sent a former minister of Aviation, Mr Osita Benjamin Chidoka, to intervene on his behalf. The former minister allegedly also failed to reconcile the contending factions and the meeting ended without yielding any positive results. Surprisingly, however, a strong pillar of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Aminu Abdulsalam, said he was not aware of the meeting when contacted by reporters. Abdulsalam said, “The party’s chairmen, secretaries and other stakeholders were taken to Abuja by a different group with the sole aim of conducting a fresh primary election but to be honest with, the National Vice Chairman (North) told them that he has no mandate to do so.
